What are the particle size of your mill and classifier?
Currently, the finest particle size for dry grinding in the business is about 2 μm. Our company's most up-to-date steam mill technology can take some materials down to sub-micron levels, which is lower than 1 μm.
What is the capacity of a single mill and classifier?

Which is better, fluidized bed jet mill or spiral or disc jet mill?
The pros and cons of each type should be taken into account when deciding which is most suitable based on the needs of the materials.
A fluidized bed jet mill has the advantage of a precision classifier wheel that makes adjusting the particle size much easier than a disc jet mill and results in finer particles. However, this type of machine is trickier to take apart and clean and has a higher initial investment.
The disc jet mill has the benefit of delivering a higher output, with lower energy consumption and a lower equipment investment, all while still meeting the desired particle size.
What is the difference between vertical and horizontal classifying wheels?
The horizontal classifying wheel boasts excellent accuracy and stability, making it ideal for products with stringent Dmax (vertex cutting) demands. In contrast, the vertical classifying wheel has a lengthy shaft, resulting in a reduced speed and energy efficiency, yet this makes up for in a lower vertex cutting particle size requirement. Thus, it is best-suited for products that have comparatively low particle size criteria.
What is the difference between a direct motor and a belt connection?
Belt drives are commonplace in industry and are capable of working at high speeds due to the optimal design of speed ratio. Standard motors are cost effective and have lower fault rates, as well as easy to maintain. If high speed direct motors are used, due to their non-standard design, customers may expect higher prices, higher fault rates, limited supplier selection and difficult maintenance services. We suggest opting for the belt drive option, although direct motor drives are also available.
Do I need a cyclone separator?
A cyclone separator is a typical component along with mill and classifier. It can be used to direct a portion of the fine powder into the dust collector if there are stringent demands for powder quality. This decreases the amount of ultra-fine powder in the product but also increases cost and the space it takes up. The two materials collected through the cyclone and dust collector possess different sizes and should be selected based on the specific needs.
How efficient is the cyclone separator?
Usually, the collection efficiency is between 90-95%, and in certain cases, it can reach up to 98% or even 99%. The precise level is dependent upon the particle size, mass, moisture, and shape of the matter, so the result must be examined on a case-by-case basis.
What is the structure of the dust collector? How high is the filtration accuracy?
At present, filter bag dust collectors are mainly used in the powder industry. In certain cases, filter cartridges and sinter-plate filter can be used too, though they come with a high cost and some drawbacks that should be taken into consideration.
Filter bags made for domestic use can capture particles larger than 2 μm effectively when fitted with a membrane, achieving a filtration accuracy of up to 99.99%. For those with a high concentration of finer particles which measure below 2 μm, a sinter-plate collector is a more suitable option.
What are the advantages and disadvantages of the jet mill compared to other types of mills? When should I use a jet mill? What materials are suitable?
At present, jet mills are capable of achieving very fine particle size by dry grinding. Compressed gas has a grinding limit of approximately 2 μm, while superheated steam yields a minimum of 1 μm. In some cases, product can be ground down to particle sizes as small as 0.1 to 1 μm.
Using compressed air as a medium in a jet mill has the advantage of low temperature rise, fine product particle size and high purity, which makes it ideal for the production of high value-added materials. However, the drawback of this approach is its high energy consumption - not advisable for materials of lesser value.
